chicago holga pics

It’s only taken me five months and two major photo sessions, but I’ve finally finished cleaning up and uploading the October Chicago trip holga images to CrymsonEye.  This pano is my favorite.  It’s the sky line view from Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park.  The fountain itself was already shut down for winter when we were there but if you look carefully you can see the fencing and statues of the horses in the fountain.  There are several that are my faves that I’ll post on here over the next few days or so.  Or if you’re anxious check them out on the flicker page.  Next step…take some more holga pics and work on cleaning up/up loading the xmas/winter 2009 holga images.

mmmm sushi

Opportunities for quiet nights on the deck in the warm spring breeze followed by a date for sushi are going to become quite scarce soon.  At least we can have loud nights on the deck w/ a little guy soon.  That oughta make up for it.  Still I figured we should take advantage of it while we can, so we made a spontaneous trip to our fave sushi joint in town.  It’s been months since we had sushi and the longer you go between it the better it tastes when you get it.  oh how wonderful the real stuff w/ fish will taste once baby comes.

april already

~Spring is here, people are restless, weather is warm, and daffodils are blooming
~Pic is not mine, I found it on a spring google search
~I am picking up two rolls of Holga pics after work today, one roll shot in the cemetery in the fog
~We bought a new car last weekend, a Toyota Camry, it makes me feel responsible and all grown up
~Less than 8 weeks left…thank god we got the new car
~Today will be 80F outside, it should be illegal to have to work on nice spring days
~There never seems to be enough time for everything
~Yesterday I sat on the deck and read, it was the first time in ages I missed my beads
~I’ve been thinking about the garden already, wondering if I’ll get anything in the ground this year
~I would also like to plant some more bulb flowers around the house, and put out some bird food for the birdies

finished!

I started this project Christmas weekend and finished it Sunday afternoon.  Not too bad of timing since I took a few weeks off in February while I was hooked on making owls.  =)  It’s nice to finally have something off my in progress list crossed off.  Especially one for the little guy.  The colors are perfect, the white diamond pattern is just what I was looking for.  It’s not quite square, which has to do w/ I didn’t count stitches/rows/or measure yarn gauge, but that’s my style and I’m ok w/ it.  I can’t help but look at patterns for new crochet projects.  For now it’s just looking.  Next is to finish up the owls I started last month, which is something I’ve been looking forward to for a few weeks now.

Dzogchen 2010 music up

While I’ve been spending my down time diving head first into fiber crafts, Chris has been hard at work writing and recording new tracks for his Dzogchen project.  He’s been continuing his exploration into zen metal, combining different sounds and levels to create some rocking meditation tracks.  This last bunch inspired by life events seem more complex w/out losing the simplicity of the sound.  Maybe it mimics life more than I first realized. His newest track, A Boy, was posted Tuesday evening.  The rest of his songs will be posted over the next couple days.  So stop by Dzogchen’s media page today and again over the next day or two to hear some amazing stuff.
