silver shadows

Before bed last night Chris calls me out to the deck.  Our entire back yard was lit up by a silvery blue light, with pitch black shadows appearing next to each tree.  Last night was the Harvest moon and it was big, full, bright, and beautiful.  Something about the crisp chill in the 60 degree air makes the moon all the more magnificent.  We had watched the Harvest moon on one of our first dates, and it was just as beautiful then.  So I guess if we were in denial of the approaching autumn season despite the farmers harvesting the corn, and the quickly yellowing leaves, we can’t deny it now.  Autumn is here, enjoy it before winter comes.
I have been making leaves for the many half made flowers I have, and intended on taking a pic of my pile of greens.  I didn’t quite get to it though.  I am working away and leaves though and will share some soon.

next bouquet

ugh, that last post just isn’t working right.  Oh well, you get the point with cute kitty pics!  =0)  Here I’m showing a very rough picture of my next bouquet.  I’ve been making these flowers for a couple days now and spent a lot of time on it today.  It’ll be the first bouquet I’ve made since Jamaican Sun, and I think it’ll turn out bigger than JS is.  I took this pic about half way through the day and have since designed a new flower to add to the flowers.  I’ll show those in the bouquet in the next pic I take.  Now the Bears game is on so I’m going to go watch that and work on some more flowers.

more pics

here are more cute kitty pics b/c I can’t resist.  He makes us laugh.

I’ve never seen a cat sleep on it’s back, but Orion seems to be quite comfy here.  He was so sleepy he let me bead some flowers while he slept.

bad kitty

For some strange unknown bizaar kitty reason, Orion has taken a likeing to Chris’ boots.  He lays on them, sticks his head in them, chews on them, plays with the laces.  The funny thing is, he doesn’t tire of it, never gets bored with those boots, or his little hedgehog toy.  As soon as he sees that hedge hog he’s in full attack mode.  At least he doesn’t think of Willow that way, at least he doesn’t act on it.  We did start up the habit of holding him while we bring her in and out of the room.  He was looking a little too interested in her.
Last night I also found out that I think he likes my beads more than I do!  I couldn’t get him off of me while I was working on yet another pumpkin.  Although I don’t think he appreciates them in the same way I do.  cool smirk

night breeze

i was sitting outside on the deck tonight and the evening was perfect.  the temperature comfortable with a warm breeze, bugs were chirping, trees dancing.  somehow i was inspired to write a hiaku.  i haven’t written or read poetry since high school and didn’t particularly enjoy it.  but this was just what came out of me.  i’m not even sure its right or follows all the rules, but i don’t care.

crickets sing thru night
warm wind blows summer away
lights glow from within
