becoming cozy
Our home is really becoming a very cozy, comfortable home, and I love it more and more. Yesterday the buffet table finally came in. We ordered almost 12 weeks ago, to use for additional counter space as well as cabinets for my pots and pans. Until yesterday my pan storage consisted of three boxes in the corner of the kitchen. But now my kitchen is finally completely unpacked. I love it. Although there are LOTS of projects we still want to do, all the ones that we started back in May are now finished. We basically took the month of June off from doing house stuff…with the exception that last weekend I cut down three small trees and planted a shrubery in they’re place. We probably will not do a lot in July either b/c we are busy every weekend during this month. But once August and the fall hits we’ll be working away at it. The bead room, is still a mess. Lots of boxes of unpacked books, and a desk completely covered in half finished flowers and loose beads. I think I’ll wait until winter to tackle that, b/c it will definitely take a while. The railing needs some sanding and some polyurithane applied to it. We will probably tear out the very retro dividers between the kitchen and the dining room. And we’ve discussed doing some work to the deck. There’s lots more like painting and what not, but right now its just fun to chill and relax.
This weekend will be fun, my cousin Katie is coming down to see the house. Jed will be joining us again. I’m going to grill up some tequila salmon on Saturday. I’ve really been enjoying grilling and cooking this summer. I’ve actually been toying with the idea of taking a cooking class. Right now I kinda wing it in my cooking and sometimes things turn out a little spicer than they should. =0) I have LOTS of lacing to do before I can show some fresh new pics of flowers. I am hoping to get at least a chunk of it done sometime….maybe over the weekend. We will see. I’m also thinking about placing another order for a larger selection of wire. My mermaid was a lot of fun to make and I’m wanting to see what else will come out of putting a little wire in my hands.
