flowers in action
This weekend we were in Chicago area for Chris’s cousin, Sandy’s wedding. What a beautiful day they had on Saturday, perfect weather and temps. Her and Justin both looked amazing. The ceremony was short and perfect for the two of them in this tiny old church. The reception was held at the historic train station in Joliet. What an awesome place for a party! High ceilings with several crystal chandeliers, a wide enough space for 200 people to be comfortable whether they wanted to dance or not. A balcony that leaned over downtown Joliet and some fancy fireworks lit the sky from the near by casino.

Her dress was amazing and totally played up a modern vintage theme she had going on. It was a strapless modern cut dress but had lace covering the entire dress w/ just the right amount of crystal in the lace to give her a sparkle. She loved her shoe clips which were her blue for the occasion. They held up well. I think they ended up stitching the clips to the shoe so they’d be more sturdy. They really went through a lot b/c she wore her shoes the entire night!!
Her colors were fushia and burnt orange…but they were used strictly as accent colors. Only seen in the bouquets and mums that decorated the church and party. I had made her two lilies that I gave to her for a shower gift. And to my surprise I saw that she used them as decoration at the reception. They were sitting right by the guest book! I was so excited! The colors turned out to be a perfect match to everything.
I’m so glad she liked them enough to use on her special day.
Sunday was a good day too. We slept in late, it was cloudy and drizzley so we stayed in and had a fire. I got a ton of beading done while hanging out with everyone watching the Bears game. They won so that made everything all the more exciting. After the Bears played the White Sox game started. They started off slow, and they were/are in another win or go home situation. So we left in the middle of the game to drive back, while listening on the radio. They ended up winning…so they play again tonight. I’m hoping to catch it on tv…it’s too suspenseful listening on the radio!
