A Crymson Life

long weekend update

We had a long weekend which was nice and very much needed. Work has been very busy for me lately and has been leaving me exhausted. It was really wonderful to have the weekend to ourselves and we took advantage of it. Saturday was Valentines day and normally we don’t celebrate but we had decided to do some fun couple stuff. We woke up and headed outside to go on a hike. We didn’t make it very far because it was cold and windy so we turned around and went for a drive. We drove around the country and then hit up the movie theaters to see what was playing. We decided to see Slumdog Millionaire, but had to waste some time before the movie. We did a little shopping, I got a watch, and a few errands, then hit up the movie. We had popcorn for lunch during the movie. It’s a great movie…I highly recommend. I liked everything about it, the actors, the direction, the music. It’s worth every penny to see it on the big screen.
After the movie we went and bummed around the mall, stopping at a bar to have a couple drinks. Chris had some wintery beers and I tried their Valentine themed martinis. We did a little more shopping then headed home. That evening we called in carry out to our favorite sushi place, picked up the sushi (best idea ever b/c it was jam packed) and had a sushi picnic on the floor in the basement. We ate sushi, drank a really nice pinot grigio, and had fancy chocolates for dessert. And while we ate we watched Bottle Shock, another good movie.
Sunday was our relaxing day. Chris recorded for a good part of the day while I closed myself up in the beadroom. I have quite the handful of new flowers to show…one of these days I’ll get to it. =) I keep coming up w/ ideas for more, I can’t stop the flow, and have learned not to ever try. That evening we played some video games together and beat some of the older games we’d started.
Monday was more beading. I worked on some bracelet ideas, mostly w/ the wine bottle beads I got. That evening I drove up the Bead Parlor and picked through her sterling silver beads. I found some fun stuff to combine with the wine beads. I have some wire coming soon so I’m excited to start putting stuff together. I met up w/ my brother for dinner which was nice and then made it home in time to watch some mystery science theater w/ Chris and fall asleep. This week promises to be busy too and next weekend we head to Chicago to see family.

The bead shop was open on the day of the holiday? I can’t say anything about the films, but I love drinking Pinot Grigio. I think, I have never tasted a bad Pinot Grigio. I can’t wait to see the sterling silver beads.
