Exciting News!!!
I have all kinds of exciting news to share. I’ve been putting it off b/c at first I was going to make a separate post for each, but I couldn’t decide which to announce first which would also mean what would get buried first. So, its all going into one big exciting post.
A couple weeks ago I was contacted by Shelley, the owner of the Bead Parlor in Bloomington Illinois. We had met in June because we both had pieces in the June issue of Bead and Button. I went up and checked out her shop and I think it might be one of the best bead shops I’ve been to east of the Mississippi. She sent me an email asking if I would be interested in teaching a beaded flower class at her store. I’ve never taught before, and actually always thought that teaching is not for me. Things change and now the more I think about it the more I think I would really enjoy teaching. After talking with Shelley for the last couple weeks it’s been decided that I will teach my first class on Saturday November 3rd. If you live in the area and want to learn the basics of french beaded flowers and walk away with a pretty flower register a head of time by contacting Shelley.
Monday was the opening day to the Hidden Talent in our Corporate Community exhibit at the Peoria Art Guild. Tomorrow is the opening reception. Opening receptions are fun, all the artists are there, there are nibbly items and the last time there was wine. The reception starts at 530 and goes until 730. Why is this apart of my exciting news? Because my Rusty Rose is apart of this exhibit! If you want to see some excellent pieces of art, or you want to see my newest flower (trust me its cool and different from my others) then come down the guild. The exhibit is on display until Nov 10th.
I finished two bouquets last night, they are arranged and wrapped. Tonight I will take pictures and they’ll be posted soon. Next on the list is to put the second part mentioned before on my Great Pumpkin and then pack beads for vacation.
Speaking of vacation my final bit of exciting news is really only exciting to me, but that’s ok. A week from today we leave for Tennessee. We plan on being on the road by 6am, in order to get there by 3ish. I want to get there plenty of time before dark. Plus I think the time will go by faster in the car if we leave early.
I think that’s all the exciting news I have right now. I have lots to look forward to right now, especially with the enameling class starting Monday.
