not chatty

I’m still here, I guess I just haven’t been very chatty lately. Or at least not in the mood to blog, or even bead. I have several really great ideas, one for a new flower, and a couple ideas for some bouquets, (small ones), but I have not picked up any beads. I did have a nice visit at home over the weekend. Mom and I accomplished what we set out to accomplish, which was to come up with a display prototype. I spent the majority of the day Monday arranging furniture and stuff in the bead room. I still very much need a book shelf (books are in piles!) but almost everything else has a home now. It looks great, I get so excited when I go in there.
I’ve been going to my class every Monday night, and the enamel is starting to grow on me. I’m still not sure how much I could or want to incorporate it into my flowers, but I do enjoy working with the colors and layering the different enamel to get different effects. For example, I found out that if I put a thin layer of transparent pink enamel over my enameled leaf, it gives it a lovely organic texture to make it a million times more realistic looking. Well ok, it’s not that realistic but at least it’s not cartoony any more. Last Monday we started Cloisonne, which wasn’t as horribly hard as I first thought it might be. I enjoyed making designs with the wire and filling in color around. I’ll take pics and post them.
Not sure when the beads will be picked back up, any spare time this week will be spent finishing the bead room and working on the display. Which means I get to play with my hammer! =0) This weekend Jon and Theresa are coming to see the house. That’ll be a fun time! and I can’t believe that a week from tomorrow is Thanksgiving! What happened to the first half of November? did I sleep thru it? I must have b/c somehow I missed it.

I think you need to explain the basics of enamelling in one of your next mails. I have realized that I don’t really know what you are doing when you are enamelling. It has something to do with coating, I know that. But that’s all. BTW, in German the word to enamel is translated: “emaillieren”. Isn’t that a strange one?

I don’t know where the time has gone either!

It seems impossible that Thanksgiving is next week doesn’t it?

Oh I am so jealous!  I have always wanted to try Cloisonne.
