A Crymson Life

Remember her?

Do you remember the mermaid I made a few months ago?  I made her in June when I recieved my first order of wire and metals.  She was my first creation from that bunch as well as my first nonflower creation from wire.  Well she’s now a finished piece, I’ve framed her, named her Trimena (Theresa helped me come up with the name), and she now lives on my bead room wall.  Just thought I’d show everyone what became of her.

I also wanted to share this link that BE posted on one of her blogs last week.  Left Brain vs Right Brain came up at work today and it made me think of the link again.  I work in a science lab, and so with many left brained people.  Unfortunately, I don’t really feel comfortable asking any of them to look at the link…but I do feel comfortable asking you guys.  Do you see the dancer going clockwise or counter clockwise or both?  According to the article if she goes clockwise you tend to use the right side of your brain and vise versa.  It also states that most people see her dancing counterclockwise.  The few people I’ve talked to see her dancing clockwise but they are also fellow beaders.  So if you read this, take a look, and leave a comment, which way does she dance for you?

That mermaid is sweet! And, I saw the dancer going both ways… it took awhile though… smile

Clockwise

That’s pretty cool. It’s definitely spinning clockwise for me. If I stare long enough, it almost seems to flip, but I don’t have it yet.

big surprise

Of course, I do remember the mermaid. Trimena. The name is interesting, never heard it before. What does it mean or where does it come from?

Seems that almost everyone seems to see it clockwise ...

Can I say that the dancer was quite a discussion item for us before class last week.  I think the break down was 4 - Clockwise; 2- Counter.  I would have thought a bunch of business school students would have found more counter.  I MISS YOU.

Hey!  Thats the first I’d heard of people seeing it counterclockwise first!  Excellent.

When do you come home?  We have so much to do, cork boards to assemble, wine to drink, plans to make.  I MISS YOU TOO!
