A Crymson Life

8x8 and other events at the Art Guild

I did it! I finished a new wall flower piece in time to be turned in to this years 8 even at the Peoria Art Guild. If you don’t remember they had this first annual event last year and it was a huge success. Artist’s donate art in any media as long as the finished dimensions are 8”x8” and it is ready to hang. The event is run dutch auction style. Last year’s piece, Maroon’s Light went fast, and I have high hopes for this years piece. Although from what I’ve seen the quality of everyone’s donations has gone up drastically. I can’t wait to look around and see what might come home with me. =) This year’s event is on Nov. 21 in the evening. You can go earlier in the day if you want to scope out what’s available but bidding starts at 7. Call the Peoria Art Guild for tickets.

Also, this year I have my flower clip ornaments available for sale through the Peoria Art Guild. Starting today through the holiday season they are having several holiday sale events on the weekends. They are stressing gifts for under $25, all are hand made by local and regional artists. They are not necessarily all ornaments, so there can be something for everyone.

Other news about beads or beading is not much. I’ve taken a small break to work on the rock quilt and maybe pick up some crochet. I am in the process of redoing/reorganizing the bead room. I’ll take pictures when that gets finished. But it’s going to be a long process for now.
