bead room
Here are some crappy photos of my newly finished, kick ass, bead room. The photos are crappy mostly b/c it’s too dark to take a decent picture by the time I get home from work. So these will have to do for now. The first shot up top is the view when you are standing in the door way. That will be my work desk, and there are drawers on the other side that are holding all my fancy wire, sheet metal, and fun tools. I actually need to add a couple more drawers for some more miscellaneous items.
The middle photo is of the corner you can’t see from the door way.
The green shelf is full of boxes filled to the brim with the majority of my seed beads. There is one box for each color, and they are in desperate need of expanding. Colors like blues are going to have to be separated into two boxes aqua blues and blue blues. Reds also need to be separated, although I’m not sure how to tackle that one. The apothecary shelf on the left is also filled with colored wire, glass crystals, tubes of seed beads, and other miscellaneous items. I love apothecary chests, they are so perfect for a bead hoard. On top of the green shelf is jewelry box that holds, beaded jewelry, most of it bought or made by Gram. The around that is my stock of unfinished flowers. The white wall shelves display things I like, as well as finished pieces I’ve made.

The final picture is of my new display. I love it! It’s a room divider! This is such a horrible pic
What I did was take some thin brass and copper and hammered it into cone shapes. I had intended on treating the cones differently with liver of sulfur and ammonia to get some cool patterns and effects, but I got lazy. So I hammered them into shape and then hung them from my divider and now its the perfect display. The cones are not by any means perfect, they need to be weighted down. Some are very very rough and should be redone. But they work, and its a lot better than having my finished bouquets laying on the floor.

The bead room looks HUGE to me! Those apothecary chests look so cool and I can imagine that they serve their purpose very well. I also like the room divider very much. I would like to have such a big bead room, too.
