A Crymson Life

beadless me time

Normally I spend all of my me time working on flowers or thinking about beads. And I’m always happy that’s how I spend it, but over the week every spare moment I had I worked on flowers. I spent hours on Monday lacing all the leaves in my new bouquet. Pumpkin leaves are a pain to lace up too, they take double the time. Lacing is finished, beading is finished, all that is left of the new bouquet is to assemble. Last night I couldn’t get myself to work on it. I didn’t want to force it b/c really assembling is the last step. If you mess that up it could potentially ruin the entire project for me.
After dinner last night I pulled out my favorite comfy pants and realized that the stitching holding in the elastic band had come out. So I dug out a needle and thread and sewed the elastic back in, which will be wonderful in TN. After that I took a long hot shower, curled up in bed under 3 blankets and read a book until I fell asleep. It’s been a long time since I’d spent my me time like that. I miss reading.
Soon I will be spending some time learning metal enameling. I signed up for the class at the Peoria Art Guild with a friend of mine. It is every Monday night and I’m more than excited to learn something new. This will also be the first class I’ve ever taken, well since college, but biology classes don’t count. It starts this Monday, I will post an update saying how it went.
I have more exciting news, but it is for a different post. Come back soon for pics of some finished pieces. I should have time to assemble this week.

That’s cool that you are taking a class! I can’t wait to see what you will learn there. I would like to take crafts classes here but they do not offer something I am interested in currently. And yes, sometimes I miss reading, too ... wink

Are you enjoying that book?

So far I am enjoying it, I like the style it’s written in.  I plan on reading some more tonight and tomorrow.  I had forgotten how good it feels to read.big surprise

Metal enameling sounds interesting to me, but it was more of a project that I saw myself doing in the future.  But you never know what the future holds, so might as well try it now while there’s an opportunity. cheese

What book?  I haven’t read a book outside of a textbook since I got here.  They’re staring at me on my shelf, mocking.

What’s the other exciting news?  And PS - I’m so glad about the class, you guys are going to have fun - is Trina doing it too?

Yep, I believe Trina is signed up too.  We’ve been discussing how we might bring wine to class.

Oh, you can’t do without wine??? I could not, either ... :D
