A Crymson Life

Black and White

A post title like that could go into any sort of topic, but in my head I’m humming Michael Jackson’s song. =) Corny I know. What I’m really referring to is my love of black and white film. Two weekends ago while cleaning house prepping for turkey day, I found a stack of holgas that had yet to be scanned and uploaded. Some are leftovers from our Michigan trip in August, but most where from a trip up to Chicago in October when we went to the top of the Sears/Willis Tower.

The majority of these pics are taken with black and white film and I really enjoy the results more than my color film pictures. The contrast is must sharper which to me makes images of even the most simple things more dramatic. It’s not natural for me to think in B+W, I gravitate toward the color film. It’s easier for to me to think about composing pictures in color. But I end up with more photos that I love in B+W than I do in color. I’ve uploaded the few b+ws that were left from Michigan to Crymson Eye. I’m currently working on cleaning up the rest of the pics from Chicago. They’ll be up soon.

In other news if your a big movie buff stop over at 101 Things blog. She’s been posting lists of the best movies of the decade to see how many she and others have seen. Then at the end of the year there will be a summary with a true list of the aughts best movies.

Beautiful! I am a huge fan of black/white. Heh, heh, the self-portrait is funny. I have some of those and they look almost the same. I mean the face expression. And the picture of you is wonderful, I can understand why it’s your new fave.

How’d the pics to Chicago turn out? I’d love to see them. And thanks for the holla.
