Happy Feet!

My feet are now the happiest they’ve ever been!  Today we received a package from Germany.  After just over a week of me impatiently waiting for the mailman every day the package arrived on the day when hand knitted socks would be best.  It’s cold and snowy/rainy outside and my feet are cozy and comfy inside beautiful socks.  They fit perfectly and the color is hard to tell in my pics but it’s a beautiful light blue.  Also you can click on these images and they will enlarge.  The yarn itself is sooooo soft.  It’s made of 55% Merino wool, 20% silk, and 25% polyamide.  I can machine wash them which is great b/c it’s practical. The pictures make my feet look huge…but it’s not an easy thing taking a pic of my feet, especially right now b/c they’ve been happy dancing since I put them on.  LOL

I knew she was working on these socks for me but I had no clue she would fly through them so fast!  BE is a knitting machine this year.  She’s just started her first shawl and you can see progress pictures on her blog.  She likes to incorporate beads into her knitting projects as well.  You can see them in her newest blog post.

BE is also responsible for Chris and mine’s recent love of tea.  For Christmas we received a package with some of her favorite teas that we sampled together.  After that Chris and I were hooked.  We’ve been checking out the whole foods store in town and found some pretty good teas there.  This weekend we’re heading north and I want to check out World Market’s tea selection.  Although we don’t really need any more tea for a while.  Before we got home to our package we had stopped by the store and stocked up on tea.  Then we got home and realized BE sent us some Friesian tea call Moin Moin.  It’s from Sylt and smells delicious.  It’s loose leaf so I need to find a little steeper thing so we can make it.  But I have a few ideas of where I can buy one.
Thanks BE!!!  that was the best package ever!

Thanks for linking to my blog and mentioning the shawl. It is growing and growing ... :D
Let me know how you like the tea. What is a steeper? Something like a sieve? You could also buy paper filters for the time being. In the long run it’s better to put the leafs into one pot with boiling water and pouring all this through a sieve into another pot. There are also special teapots available with real big tea filters. In this way, the leafs can spread out to their full flavour ... Enjoy!

I didn’t think about using a strainer…that could work!  I’ve seen these little metal things w/ little holes in them.  You put the tea in the metal doohickey and steep your tea that way.  I don’t know if it’s officially called a steeper…I just really know what it’s called at all.  But I’ll try the filter method for now.

One of the great pleasures in life are warm, fuzzy socks IMO.
