A Crymson Life

“I take comfort knowing someday this is all gonna be a real nice shopping complex.”

Midway through season 1 and the biggest thing I’ve discovered is that I’d forgotten a lot of the substories about the non so main characters. Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Locke, and even Sayid I remember their stories well. Even the early ones. It’s the characters that have died or disappeared that I’d forgotten about. Here are some plots that were like new to me.

The biggest one was how Charlie killed Ethan. First I’d remember that Claire and Charlie are kidnapped, and that Charlie is left for dead. But I forgot that Claire was gone for over a week, and that when she returns she has lost her memory. I completely forgot how they finally caught Ethan and Charlie comes out of no where and shoots him 4 times. I actually gasped out loud watching this part again. Which is always fun when you’re rewatching a series.

The Boone and Shannon’s sort of incest episode. I of course remember the flash back, that’s what I remember most when I think of these two characters. But I’d completely forgotten about the island part. Boone is drugged and tied up torture style by Locke. Where he proceeds to hallucinate that Shannon is also tied up and here comes the smoke monster. The smoke monster actually kills Shannon in this dream and Boone feels relieved. This is the first glimpse we see of the lengths Locke is willing to go through to get people to see what he wants them to see of this island. Locke is one creepy strange dude…yes and that’s saying a lot considering there was step sibling sex in this episode.

Return of the polar bear. Truly I only remembered one episode where there was a polar bear and Sawyer shoots it. The second bear makes an appearance and goes after Walt. It was pointed out by another blogger that the bears only show up in the episodes that Walt reads the spanish comic book. Maybe that is why this (I think) is the last polar bear appearance b/c Michael burns the comic book. Still I enjoyed the random appearance of the bears on the island.

Claire’s flashback and how the psychic is the one that puts her on the plane destined to crash. All in order to make sure she raises the baby herself. B/c there was much warning as to what the baby would become if she did not. Now right now we know Kate raises little Aaron for a couple years and then hands him off to Grandma. But with all the time travel themes going on I gotta wonder if we won’t find out this season that Aaron is really a character we already know, Ben, Locke, or someone else who didn’t have a mommy.

Sawyer and Hurley scenes are my favorite, mostly b/c I know they eventually turn into close buds.

Kate and Sawyer’s game of I never was a fun segment.

The whispers. Sayid is the first to hear the Others and their whispering in the jungle. I couldn’t tell what they were whispering to him. But Sawyer is next to hear them, and what’s creepy is that they are whispering “It’ll come back around.” Which are the dying words of the man Sawyer killed.

So judgmental of the step children getting it on. No one ever thinks Clueless is icky? smile

Damn polar bears.

Also crazy theory about Aaron….I likes.

Didn’t think about Clueless, although I didn’t really think Boone and Shannon was icky.  It’s just the story line that stuck in my head, instead of the Locke tieing up Boone and drugging him.  I watched the commentary to this w/ the writers and actors that play Boone and Shannon.  The actors barely spoke at all, the writers basically had to interview them to get them to talk…lame.

I’m liking my Aaron theory more and more too.  W/ Claire coming back they have to touch on this mystery.

Um, yeah, can I say now how freaking hot I think Boone is now that he’s on another show and is oh so deliciously bad?!? But yeah on Lost I kinda wanted to punch him in the face. Well and plus he takes his shirt off a lot on Vampire Diaries.
