A Crymson Life

I’m Live!

After 7 months of brainstorming, surfing, experimenting, tons of learning, and hundreds of emails CrymsonFlower.com is finally live! Making a website is not an easy feat, and I didn’t even do any of the coding!  There are about a million decisions to make, the hardest being how you want your site to look and feel.  This can, at times, contradict with the most important part, navigation and oraganization, but I think we found a just the right combination.  The design of the site says a lot about me and yet I think it is easy to navigate.  I hope everyone agrees!  I had a tremendous amount of help from my Mom….Thanks MOM!  She did a great job and is still walking me through all the photoshopping etc. Although at the moment this is a pretty basic site, blog and gallery, as I grow I plan for the site to grow with me.

Below I’ve posted the last post from my Blogger account. I have decided not to upload the two years worth of posts onto this new blog.  The mermaid post sorta serves as a continuum post, plus I really like my mermaid….she still needs a name though.  grin  This new blog does not require you to have an account to post a comment, so for anyone who can’t remember their blogger password, all you have to do is enter your email address to post a comment.  For anyone who is linked to me or has me bookmarked, please update your links!

I am extremely excited that this is finally going live, so excited I think I might have a case of blogger block.  shut eye I hope everyone still comes to visit my site, and I’m looking forward to hear any comments you have about it.  Also, soon I will have pics of new flowers….so stay tuned!

U must be so excited!! And, yes, the site looks great, and it’s easy to navigate. But, your blog is on the home page?? Interesting.. I will update my links to you , but my google reader does not find a feed to your blog… *sigh* I think this is why I decided that I will not move my blog from blogger when I finally have my own site… Is there a way to copy & paste HTML into Blogger?? (just curious) Anyways, don’t worry, I’ll be checkin back.. Lata…. =:)

yep, my blog is my homepage.  I don’t really have enough content for a real homepage, so for now it is my blog.  Eventually I’ll expand.
I did not really consider the google reader not finding me.  Does that mean you don’t get an email when I update?  that sounds more like it’s only for people using blogger.  thats a bummer, but not a big deal, I’m too excited that it’s finally live.  ummm, about blogger, yes you can copy and paste HTML into it, but I don’t know how much freedom you have in customizing any more than you’ve already customized it.

and yes, I believe it’s been close to 7 months, with breaks now and then.  We started really thinking about it in January.

I just open up my Google reader page, and it shows me the updates right on the page. Then, if I want to comment, I click the link, and it opens the actual blog. I love it. It saves me a lot of time. But,  no big deal. I guess Google reader is for people who use blogger, but you can use it for regular websites, as well, such as news & sports, etc…So, don’t know… My friend Jimmy has a myspace blog & a blogger blog, so he just copies & pastes the HTML from one into the other, so that all of his friends are able to read… I might consider doing that, but I think I’ll just keep my blog on blogger for convenience sake…. Lata:)

Hey LB, try adding me to your reader page again.  Mom added the RSS atom links(under the B+B image) you might be able to subscribe to me thru those.  maybe…not sure…that’s kinda new to me.
