A Crymson Life

Lost season 5

Last Wednesday was the season finale of Lost season 5.  It was definitely one of the best seasons so far.  I spent the entire season going back and forth between hating Ben and feeling compassion, and maybe even liking Ben.  I haven’t thought about time travel this much since my brother and I had the conversation back when the Terminator movies were newer… that had to of been sometime in the 90ies.  And I am actually thinking it would be fun and interesting to go back and watch the other season some time before the final season of Lost starts, next Jan/Feb.

Lost has always had great finales, huge cliff hangers, drama, action, everything.  Even the boring seasons has a great finale.  They answer just enough questions to satisfy and then bring up more questions to keep you hooked during the long off season.  This finale didn’t seem to answer many questions.  It sort of answered the whole “who’s Jacob?” question but not really.  We don’t know who he was or why he visited the characters before they came to the island.  We don’t know where he came from or how he came to be on the island.  The only thing they answered on that regard was what he looked like, and how he might have died.  What they did do in the episode was flash back to every character and often to scenes that had been mentioned before in previous seasons but that we’d never actually seen.  I enjoyed this a lot, seeing young Sawyer at his parent funeral starting a letter that ultimately brought him to the island.  And similar events with almost everyone.

This year for the finale Misty and Trina came over for dinner, wine, and Lost.  Trina made a Lost cake which was awesome and I thought more than blog worthy.  Awesome cake Trina, it tasted great too!

I think the sub on that cake looks better than the CGI one on the show!
