A Crymson Life

movie update

Yep we’re still watching our scary movies, I just haven’t posted on them. Last weekend we got quite a few in, it’s during the week that we’ve been falling behind.

The Thing: One of our favorites that is truly a scary movie. Filmed in the early 80ies a young Kurt Russel and the setting is Antarctic. I forget that this is more scary than corny. We give it 3.5 out of 4 exploding dogs.

MST Werewolf: There’s nothing better than waking up on Saturday morning and laying in bed watching a corny Mystery Science Theater. We have a handful picked out with a Halloween theme. Werewolf is the first one we’ve gotten to. It was a real dumb one too! For MST purposes we give it 2 out of 4 bad wolf costumes.

28 Days Later: My favorite scary zombie movie. It’s tied w/ Shaun of the Dead but that counts more as a comedy. There’s not much humor at all in 28 Days Later. It’s bloody, it goes into how desperate humans can get to survive, and the zombies are fast. A great movie for this time of year. I give it 4 out 4 infected.

28 Weeks Later: The sequel to 28 Days Later but definitely not as good. It was ok…could definitely have been worse. 2 out of 4 infected again

From Dusk Till Dawn: This is one of those movies you can only watch every once in a while. It’s a 90ies vampire flick with George Clooney and cheesy Quentin Tarantino dialogue. I do enjoy Tarantino movies, but I can only do them in small doses. His violence is over the top but he’s always good for liners. This gets 3 out of 4 Blood Suckers.

And the most recent movie I watched wasn’t scary and wasn’t supposed to be scary. In fact it was supposed to cheer me up after a long day. Instead it was just painful to watch. It actually hurt for a while. Sex in the City gets 0 out of 4 shut eye

Yeah, Sex and the City is the suck.

Also, all those other movies scare me.

I only know From Dusk Till Dawn. We used to watch a lot of Tarantino movies when we were in grammar school. I still like the style and everything. FDTD is cult! And I love “Tito & Tarantula” ...
