A Crymson Life

night breeze

i was sitting outside on the deck tonight and the evening was perfect.  the temperature comfortable with a warm breeze, bugs were chirping, trees dancing.  somehow i was inspired to write a hiaku.  i haven’t written or read poetry since high school and didn’t particularly enjoy it.  but this was just what came out of me.  i’m not even sure its right or follows all the rules, but i don’t care.

crickets sing thru night
warm wind blows summer away
lights glow from within

Great hiaku!

And you did follow the rules.  grin

That’s really a wonderful haiku. I usually don’t care about the rules, either. I should writeanother one soon, too. But I need to get inspired like you.

Interesting that it’s still so warm over there ...

That is beautiful!

I used to writehaikus all the time, and posted some on my blog last year… In yours, I think the number of syllables are correct, but true Haikus do not form complete sentences…
