Oktoberfest
Here is my newest and largest bouquet to date. I started making these flowers during my early September binge too, and realized they fit together perfectly. The approaching fall weather and consuming some seasonal Leinenkugel Oktoberfest beer inspired this piece. The bouquet itself is actually a bit bigger than Jamaican Sun. The addition of the pumpkins hanging off the side makes the piece a lot bigger. The entire bouquet is standing in a traditional beer mug, and I’m toying with the idea of permanently planting it into this mug. Right now the bouquet could easily be lifted out and ribbon could be wrapped around the stems to make a stunning autumn wedding bouquet.
Oktoberfest is designed so that the piece can be used as a centerpiece, each side has flowers and leaves to appreciate. There are two main flowers in this piece the red lilies and the golden bursts. I also added some small purple bursts, and then if you look closely you can see a completely new flower that I created for this piece. It’s a cross between a small pine cone, thistle, and lavender. I’m not sure where it came from, its not based off any real life flower, it just came out from my hands one day and worked.
In the post below you can see some of the other views of Oktoberfest, including an aerial shot. I’ve some how actually finished the main projects I’ve been working on, so now I’m going to go to TN with a empty slate. I plan to try some new ideas and some new techniques.
