A Crymson Life

Pratt’s bouquet

My good friend C-Pratt, or Chris but that gets confusing has been in town lately. She has always been extremely supportive of my flowers and when ever I need an ego boost to try and sell them she’s one of my best supporters. I’ve been wanting to make her a bouquet for a while now, and since I made Miranda’s bouquet last spring she’s been wanting some Miranda daisy’s. She’s a very naturey girl, loves to go on hikes and explore. I asked her a few weeks ago for some colors and she surprised me when she threw pinks and purples into the mix of blues greens and browns that I expected. This is what I came up with. Two M-daisy’s with some small star flowers to accent. The centers of the star flowers are pearls, the white mother of pearl, and the red ones dyed fresh water pearls. I had a lot of fun rediscovering my daisies. I’ve figured out a more standard pattern for them, although who knows if I’ll remember it. And I enjoyed seeing how the different color beads played with each other even just within one flower.
Pratt came over yesterday for lunch, I gave her the bouquet and I think she really liked it. She came with a Christmas gift for me too, a beautiful ceramic pineapple candy dish. It’s mostly green, and I’ll take a pic if I remember too. But it has quickly become one of my favorite things. I love pineapples, I could theme an entire room on just pineapples. =0)
So with Pratt’s bouquet finished, and Christmas shopping done, I spent the rest of the weekend beading. I’ve designed a completely new flower for my new grey bouquet. I also came up with another flower to go with it. I also worked on some color combos for some smaller projects to fill up my inventory. When we go home for the holidays this weekend I’m bringing lots of beads. It’ll be a five day weekend of family, food, and beads!

Oh, the daisy on the second photo with the two (or more?) colours looks fantastic. The star flowers are also very beautiful and the bronzes go quite well with all the other colours. I think, I would not necessarily have chosen those colours beforehand but they really look great together!!!
