weekend project

This weekend turned out a little bit differently than originally planned. That’s ok though because it was still extremely productive. Chris’s brother Pat came down Friday afternoon. It was good to see him and catch up on life events. He’s about to take off and go traveling for the next 6 weeks or so. He’s at that stage where he’s done with college, and is about embark on the horrible job search. Nothing is really tying him down, so it is the perfect time to travel. He’s going to Montana for a couple weeks…I’m sooo jealous, then to Denver for Thanksgiving (another place I’d love to visit) and then finally to Flagstaff, Arizona. It sounds wonderful.
Saturday was the main day plans changed. My class I was going to teach was cancelled for lack of people signing up. I knew that was a very real possibility, so I was prepared for it. We might try again to see if we can get more participation. This pretty much freed up my day so I began work on my bead room. Pat helped me clear out the room, and I most of the day taping up the walls to get painted. Here I took a pic of the room, before taping but after we cleared out all my crap. I always forget how long it takes to tape. After taping, and when Chris got home we drove to World Market and bought a piece of furniture. It is a room divider screen that I plan to use to display finished flowers.
Sunday I painted and painted and painted. I actually finished painting too. Two coats of paint on all four walls, it ended up useing just about the entire gallon. =)The color is called Spa Pool, and sometimes lookes more green than blue, and in darker light looks more blue than green. It’s not the original color I envisioned in my head, I had a brighter teal in my head. But I think I really like this color. It was funny b/c I changed my mind all day yesterday. I had two walls painted and I wasn’t liking it, then all walls painted and I liked it. Then I’d change my mind again. I went to bed (fell asleep on the floor) last night liking it, and I still liked it this morning. I’m also very sore this morning.

Here is a new pic of Orion, Chris snapped it this weekend. He loves to lay on the laptop, I’m guessing b/c its warm. He really loves to lay on it while we’re working on it too. Pushing lots of buttons etc. At one point he managed to make all the icons on the desktop disappear. It took me weeks to figure out how to fix it. He’s having a crazy couple of days. Yesterday he lost three baby teeth! I’d play with him and he’d spit them out in my hand. It was kinda gross! And today we dropped him off at the Vet. He’s having declaw and anal gland removal surgery. He’ll stay the night tonight, and we’ll pick him up after work tomorrow. He’ll be a sore little guy.
