What do you do?
What do you do during the first ice storm of the season? I caught Ms. Cardinal and her friends the sparrows, house finches, and nuthatches chowing down at our new bird feeder. I also saw a squirrel stop by, but he couldn’t get to the seed. On December first of last year we also had a huge winter storm, we got inches of snow that shut down the city of Peoria. Work was even canceled that day. Today we didn’t get snow, but it’s been a steady rain of ice. The rough lava rock in my front yard is now a smooth glisteny waterfall of ice.
So what am I doing today? I baked like crazy almost all day! Four different types of cookies, chocolate chocolate chunk cookie, pecan sandies, cranberry almond biscotti, and rice crispy treats with snickers mixed in. phew, and now I’m tired! Although, I think tomorrow I might make another batch or two of biscotti. I love biscotti, but I’m hoping most of these cookies will go to the neighbors as gifts. We still haven’t met very many of them, so this will be a good opportunity. Or I could go salt their driveways, but cookies taste better. For the rest of the night I’m going to watch movies and make some flowers.
