A Crymson Life

wine night

Last night M came over for a wine night. By the time she showed up Chris and I had turned the living room into a work zone of metal, wire, and beads. Yep, I picked up some beads this week. I haven’t done much…I think I’m in the beginning phases of starting to bead again. I guess I needed a break from it for a while. Anyway while devouring a bottle and a half of wine between the three of us we watched one of my favorite movies, Big Fish. This is my favorite Tim Burton film, and in my top 10 favorite movies. I cry like a baby every time I watch this movie, but I can’t help watching it again and again. I love the world Burton creates, the crazy people and places we’re introduced to, and how they are real people with just a little flavor added in. While watching I worked on my first flower in over a month. I think it might be Burton influenced which is kinda exciting for me.
Tomorrow is Independence Day, and we get the day off. We’re heading up to Chicago in the morning. We plan on going to the Naperville Ribfest and see REO Speedwagon. I’ve never been to the Naperville Ribfest so I’m excited to see the family and check out the 4th’s festivities. I’d love to catch some fireworks too. Then we head to my parents in the north suburbs to see more family and eat good food and drink beers. Gotta love holidays!

I have never seen Big Fish. I am wondering if the title was translated to German ... It’s great that you were inspired to make a flower! Can’t wait to see it. Happy Holiday and come back safe and sound!!!

I love Burton too!! I’ll have to watch Big Fish again since i’ve only seen it once and don’t remember much of it… I can’t wait to see a Burton Inspired flower!! It’ll have to be all abstract and black and white… hehe, j/k, can’t wait to see it!  Also, I hope you have fun at the Ribfest… make sure you get there really really early if you’re planning on seeing the band… people come at the butt crack of dawn and set up chairs… it gets crowded quickly.  I hope you have a fantastic fourth of July!! Talk to you soon!
